“Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands… So that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.”- I Thessalonians 4:11-12
Reading this Bible verse reminded me that even God tells us to mind our own business, to not stick our noses where it doesn’t belong, to have tact with our speech, hold our tongues if there’s no wisdom with our words, not get too hot headed when things don’t go our way – in modern language Keep Calm. Aim for a quiet life, not because we want to play it safe, but because we want to be the salt and light of this world. To aim for goodness and excellence not because we want to please men. And let’s keep it real, retaliation, vengeance, or being busy bodies would never do us any good. Instead of commenting about how horrid the speck on your friend’s eye is, check the log on yours first.
There was once a little bunny called Thumper who taught me wise words to live by as a kid, you might want to embrace his words too. 😉
